Kujang Monument is an icon of the city of Bogor which looks like an heirloom weapon originating from West Java. Tugu Kujang was built on May 4, 1982 during the reign of the mayor of Achmad Sobana.

The history of Kujang Monument

The Kujang Monument began to be built on May 14, 1982 which stands firmly with a weight of 800 kg. This Kujang Monument was erected as a tribute to the time of the Sunda kingdom, which was the capital of Pakuan Pajajaran. This kingdom used to fight using only makeshift weapons, namely Kujang weapons. According to historical literature during the Sundanese kingdom of Pakuan Pajajaran located in the city of Bogor, therefore the city of Bogor established a monument which is also a symbol of the city of Bogor, namely Tugu Kujang which is above the peak of the monument there is a Kujang weapon.
